Dry grasslands are semi-natural forms of vegetation. This means that they have developed as a result of human influence. Without historical forms of land use such as deforestation and grazing, dry grasslands would not exist. These forms of land use hardly play a role today, causing dry grasslands to be acutely endangered.
In order to preserve dry grasslands, EU LIFE aims to establish and expand permanent land use for these areas. Among other things, the project provides support for the initial use of wasteland. In addition, joint training measures are intended to ensure the quality of land use in terms of nature conservation.
